Tips For Preparing Your Medical Aesthetics Practice for the Three Biggest Shopping Days of The Year

There are three days throughout the year that can make or break the year for a business. They are lined up to occur back-to-back. A business that misses the mark on any one of them is missing out on massive opportunities to grow and expand.

The obvious missed opportunity is to increase revenue in the short term. However, there are two bigger opportunities, both having the potential to effect long-term growth.  Each are instrumental for setting the practice up for success in the new year. They are the opportunity to expand your reach to a new or different client base, and the opportunity to nurture the relationship you have with your existing client base by solidifying their discipleship.

It is important that every business is prepared for this season of shopping long before the shoppers start pulling out the plastic. Remember, your practice is a business as much as it is a medical practice. It will not survive with a build it and they will come attitude.

Start planning for success today so that tomorrow you can find peace and joy this holiday season. Having everything ready and schedule well in advance is not only critical to the success of a practice during this time, but it is also necessary for managing the stress your team will be under once the Thanksgiving leftovers are stored away and the chaos begins.

Below are a few ideas that are designed to trigger your creative mind and make this holiday season magical for your clients, your practice, and your team.

Start Marketing Early

🎁 Get ready for Black Friday weekend! Don't miss out on these amazing offers! ✨

Provide offers that your clients cannot refuse. Offers on products and services that only happen one time per year. Have a strict timeline for purchase and do not deviate from the timeline. Otherwise, the sense of urgency is lost.

🛍️ Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday - create a shopping spree your clients will love!

Create a three-day marketing campaign that leverages the best that each day has to offer. Black Friday is about once-a-year deals. Saturday is about small business patronage. Monday is about online deals.  Market each together but with different approaches, appreciating what each day brings.

⏰ Start promoting early to create buzz and urgency. These offers are too good to pass up!

Don’t wait until the day before to promote your sales, promotions, and events. The shopping season is chaotic and flooded with ads. You’ll get lost in the endless stream of marketing campaigns a client receives. Start a week or two before Black Friday.

Sales and Promotion Ideas

💭Create exclusive incentives like limited quantity gift cards, complimentary upgrades, or special package pricing.

Try promoting a “limited supply” offering. Offer them in-house only. The goal is to get people in the door to meet your team and experience your practice.

Below are a few examples:

“40% off all gentle cleansers. Available between 10:00 am and 11:00 am. Limited quantities”

“60% off all body contouring packages. Available between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm”

“30% off all laser skin rejuvenation packages. Available between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm”

“20% off all dermal filler packages. Available between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm”

“Purchase 50 units of neurotoxin and receive 10 units. Available between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm”

The possibilities are endless. Plus, you know they’ll purchase more than the sale item.

BE STRICT WITH ADVERTISED QUANTITIES AND AVAILABILITY TIMEFRAME

💳 Purchase a $500 gift card and get $100 in "spa bucks" (only 10 available) - act fast!

The goal here is to reward a gift card purchase with a gift for the giver. Granted, some will purchase a gift card for themselves. However, by rewarding the giver with a little gift you incentivize them to purchase the gift card for a loved one from you. You also increase the likelihood that they will schedule an appointment to use the spa bucks with you in the future. NOTE: Follow up with them to get them scheduled. Do not let them forget about the spa bucks. This is about retaining or gaining a long-term client. Think lifetime value of the client.

🌟 From 9 am to 12 pm, $2000 gift cards available for $1500 (only 5 available, valid on regular price services).

Again, we are promoting a “limited supply” offering here. Offer these in-house only. Like retail and service package limited supply promotions, the goal is to get people in the door to meet your team and experience your practice. Below is an example.

“Purchase a $2,000 gift card for $1,500. Limited quantities available. First come first serve. Starting at 9:00 am on Black Friday.”

💆‍♀️ Between 12 pm and 3 pm, purchase a gift card and get a complimentary treatment or upgrade.

Like the spa bucks gift card promotion, the objective is to show appreciation to the giver. This is a great promo for Small Business Saturday. Again, try to get people in the door. Traffic is what makes a small business thrive. A medical spa is a small business.

⏳ Between 3 pm and 6 pm, enjoy a treatment series with increasing discounts over three visits.

Encourage shoppers to end their Black Friday by stopping by your practice for afternoon deals. Most Black Friday deals happen early. You’ll have those as well. However, you can keep the momentum going by offering deals when most are riding the softening wave created early in the day. You might create an offer that discounts a package of three treatments by taking $25 off the first treatment, $35 off the second treatment, and $50 off the third treatment. The goal is not only gaining their commitment for three treatments, but also exposing the client to a treatment that is life changing. Remember, loyalty is solidified through results, not price. Price serves as the opportunity to show them what you can do. After the client becomes a believer, price becomes secondary.

“Purchase a package of 3 microneedling treatments and receive your first treatment for $XXX, your second for $XXX, and the third for $XXX.”

🌐 Small Business Saturday is perfect for community connections and exclusive offers.

Do not make the mistake of believing Small Business Saturday is just about small business. It is about loyalty, which is a two-way street. To receive loyalty, you must act in a way that deserves the gift of loyalty. Like any loyal relationship, there is a connection that serves as the glue. Use Small Business Saturday to connect through exclusive client driven promotions, a client driven appreciation event, or both.

“On Small Business Saturday we want to show our appreciation for our loyal clients by offering “Botox and Bubbly” to everyone (21 or older) between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. Come in and relax your mind during this chaotic shopping weekend with a mimosa, while you relax your wrinkles with Small Business Saturday only discounts on Botox. Also enjoy Pop-Up shops with local retailers.”

🔥 Cyber Monday brings free shipping or exclusive travel-sized skincare or samples with your purchase.

Cyber Monday is all about online shopping. Therefore, your promotions should be designed with online purchases in mind. Gift cards, treatment packages, and retail product promotions should be easy transactions for the client to make. Don’t have a retail store? Allow clients to call, text or email you with their purchases. The ideas are endless. Just remember to make the transaction quick and easy. Complicated promotions on Cyber Monday will end in a no sale.

“Cyber Monday only: purchase a $500 gift card for $450.”

“Cyber Monday only: get 25% off all retail products.”

“Cyber Monday only: buy two units of Botox, get one free.”

“Cyber Monday only: purchase two microneedling treatments, get the third free.”

“Cyber Monday only: purchase a $100 gift card, get $25 in spa bucks.”
